2 schools bombed in Peshawar, Mohmand

PESHAWAR:July 11: Another government school was blown up on the outskirts of the provincial capital on Tuesday.
Police sources said the explosives planted at the school in Hajikhel area of Mera Mashogagar were triggered with a device early Tuesday. The blast damaged the building but did not cause any casualty.
A case was registered against the unknown miscreants at the Badaber Police Station.
Separately, the police arrested a suspect, Atlas from the Khyber Agency. He was being interrogated in Matani, where the militants are known to operate. The police had opened fire on him at a checkpost after observing his suspicious movements.
Our correspondent in Ghallanai adds: The militants Monday night blew up the recently reconstructed building of a government primary school in Safi tehsil in the Mohmand Agency, tribal sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that the explosion occurred at the Government Primary School in Lal Said Wali Kor in Qandaharo area late in the night.
“The recently rebuilt portion of the school building was completely destroyed in the explosion,” a local tribesman told The News.
The spokesman of the outlawed militant group, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Ehsanullah Ehsan claimed responsibility for blowing up the school.
Talking to reporters from an unknown location, he said the schools were being targetted because the teachings of Islam were not being projected accurately in the textbooks.
Meanwhile, the political administration arrested several people under the collective responsibility section of the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) after the incident as the bombing had taken place in their area.The news.
