190 awarded degrees at KCD convocation

Peshawar: Governor Masood Kausar on Saturday awarded degrees to 190 students of bachelor in dental surgery programme (session 2007-2011) of the Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD).

Addressing the KCD convocation, the governor said the people of Fata deserved to be facilitated in the healthcare sector as they have suffered a lot during the last many years and deserved attention.

He urged the young doctors to get ready to serve in Fata where, according to him, the government is in the process of revamping the health delivery system.

Besides others, Khyber Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hafizullah, vice-chancellors of other public sector universities, academicians, medical professionals, students and their parents were present at the ceremony.

The outstanding student of the KCD, Dr Noor Durrani, was awarded four gold medals in addition to President's Medal for excellent academic performance.

Dr Bushra Mehboob and Dr Anwar Ali Khan got three gold medals each, Mohammad Adnan Khan and Saima Manzoor got two each and Rabia Ali, Irum Hayat and Amir Ali got one gold medal each. Mohammad Adnan Khan, Dr Bushra Mahboob and Dr Khalida Naheed were declared best graduates for different sessions.

The governor lauded the performance of the college, saying that it was one of the oldest and most prestigious dental institutions of the country whose graduates were being acknowledged internationally and nationally.

He said the institution deserved patronage of the government and assured his support to improve the clinical and academic environment of the KCD.
