41 pc people like to read books at bed time: survey

PESHAWAR:November 28: For some people their day never starts and ends untill they read something.But there is a general perception that most of these people start their day by reading the newspapers and end their day by reading a book.This general perception was giving the support in a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan.The survey revealed that bed time is the most favorite time slot (41%) for reading books among Pakistani book readers; another 43% have no particular favorite slot; 10% prefer the afternoons and 5% are early birds who prefer mornings.In a survey a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked “At what time do you prefer to read books?” Responding to this, 5% of the book readers prefer reading books in mornings, 41% prefer bed time, 11% prefer afternoons whereas 43% read books whenever they get time. The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2688 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country.F.P.Report.
