AIOU launches MS, MPhil courses

Islamabad:23 May: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will concentrate on launching educational programmes, which will help students in earning their livelihood and take part in the overall socio-economic development of the country, said AIOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi.
He stated this while addressing the launching ceremony of MS Management Sciences and MPhil (Economics) programmes in the Spring Semester 2012.
Professor Dr. Sangi said that the AIOU is engaged in introducing new skill-based and indigenous technical know-how programmes aimed at enhancing participation of students in economic activities. He urged AIOU students across the country to play their role in effectively addressing problems being faced by the nation.
He said that the university will keep attaching top priority to accessibility of equal quality education throughout the country by using latest digital technology.
Dr. Sangi said that management sciences and economics departments of the university have completed their admission process in the shortest possible time. He hoped that students would benefit from new educational programmes. He said that new educational programmes being launched by the university will further upgrade education standards and enrolment at the higher education level.
Professor Dr. Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Professor Dr. Rashid A Naeem, chairman of the Management Sciences Department, also addressed the ceremony.The news.
