ISLAMABAD:06 November: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) exploring possibilities of signing Memorandum of Understandings (MoU)s in different field of education with leading universities around the world aimed to eradicate illiteracy and to provide the bright of knowledge to each and every home all over the country.
Prof Nazir Ahmed Sangi, Vice-Chancellor, AIOU during a meeting with a high level Iranian delegation. The delegation headed by Dr Hafiza Laila Eftikhari, Member Iranian Parliament comprising on Members of Iranian Parliament, academicians, scholars.
Sangi said that we should forge unity among our ranks to get rid of the problems being faced. He said the Quran is a pillar of unity for all Muslims and we should follow its true teaching and seek guidance from the Quran because there is solution to every problem in the Quran. Sangi said AIOU has always been a pioneer in introducing cutting-edge teaching methodology, utilizing services of the best faculty and offering diverse academic programmes at affordable fees.
Eftikhari said that Iran and Pakistan are good neighbors have closed brotherly relations delegations between the two countries would further enhance bilateral ties. She said that we should explore the collaboration between Iranian and Pakistani universities about mutual interest, especially cooperation in education sector. On the occasion, Dr Tayyaba Safie, Member Iranian Parliment said women are provided opportunities in Iran in each sector to play their role. She said that 60% female and 40% male are under study in the universities of Iran. She said that there are 35% female employees in Government institutions in Iran.
Earlier the Iranian delegation visited Institute of Educational Technology, where Director IET, Muhammad Qasim Haider told that IET is producing audio-visual materials to promote and support the distance teaching based courses of the University. He said that the materials produced by IET include radio and television programmes which are transmitted on the national broadcasting networks. He said that IET consists of production department, design department, engineering department, Achieve section, web section, video graphic section, Audio-Video resource center, educational broadcaster forms, public relations section, Graphic lab and FM Radio 91.6.Daily Times.
