ISLAMABAD:19 February: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has started admissions for its spring 2012 semester and the last date for submission of admission forms is February 27.
The computerised admission forms have been sent to all students across the country. Any student, who had not received a form so far, could download the same from the AIOU website www.aiou.edu.pk or obtain from the nearest regional/co-ordination office of the university, AIOU Admissions Director Syed Ziaul Hasnain said on Saturday.
The fee can be deposited in any designated bank branch by mentioning roll/registration numbers and mobile number until due date to avoid late fee charges, he said. The admission forms and prospectuses for all programmes offered in the spring semester could be obtained from salepoints at the main campus, regional campuses and coordinating offices across the country.
He said that admission forms with required fee can be submitted at nationwide branches of First Women’s Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank and the designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Habib Bank Ltd, however, fee in the form of bank draft/pay order will not be accepted. The admissions director said that an MSc in Mass Communication, Environmental Design, Mathematics, Sociology, Physics, Statistics, Chemistry and Forestry Extension was being offered.
Also MBA, MCom, four-years BS Programmes in Microbiology and Chemistry, Commonwealth of Learning NBA/MPA, MA in Distance and Non-Formal Education, Secondary Teacher Education, Educational Planning & Management, Special Education, Library and Information Sciences and Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), while MEd in Distance, Non-Formal and Continuing Education, Secondary Teacher's Education, Science Education and Special Education were being offered.
In postgraduate diploma, Environmental Design, Educational Planning and Management, Mass Communication, Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Computer Science and Youth in Development Work are also included as programmes being offered. app.
