PESHAWAR:June 05: The change of the site for the proposed cadet college in Lakki Marwat district has triggered controversy.
Official documents obtained by The News showed that after the 18th Amendment and abolition of the Federal Ministry of Education, education has been devolved to the provinces and the federal government would not provide funds for establishment of the cadet college.
As a result, a scheme namely “Establishment of Cadet College, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” was included in the ADP 2011-12 with an allocation of Rs200 million on the directive of the CM.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Department forwarded a summary to the chief minister for selection of districts to establish cadet colleges there and the chief minister approved cadet colleges for Lakki Marwat and Charsadda.
