PESHAWAR:February 15: The Bachelor of Technology degree holders have expressed grave concern over the government’s apathy towards the B-tech degree holders.
Speaking at a press conference here Tuesday, the B-Tech Engineers Association leaders said the degree was considered better than BE/B.Sc engineering in the rest of the world but in Pakistan it did not even get an equal status.
Wajid Yousufzai and others said the B-Tech programme was started by the Ministry of Education in 1973 but the ministry failed to declare it equivalent to the BE engineering. They alleged that the Pakistan Engineering Council was violating directives of the Supreme Court in declaring both the degrees equivalent.
The B-Tech Engineers asked the government to establish Pakistan Technology Council without any further delay and establish technology universities in each province. The news.
