ISLAMABAD: The girls’ again outshined boys in the exams of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC- II), 2011 by securing first three positions. Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) announced results of HSSC part II; here on Friday with an overall pass percentage of 75.76.
As many as 47,004 students’ submitted applications for HSSC-II examination, while 46,355 student appeared in exams out of whom 35,117 students were declared successful and 11,219 students declared fail. According to FBISE, the examinations starting from May 4, 2011 concluded on June 7, 2011.
Federal minister for Professional and Technical Training, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada was the chief guest to the prize distribution ceremony while students, teaching staff of various schools, colleges and parents of position holder students were also present on the occasion.
Fatima Khaild from Army Public School Sargodha got first position with 1029 marks in federal board while Amna Farooq from Bahria College Islamabad secured second position with 1024 marks and Amna Arshad from Army Public School Rawalpindi got 1021 marks securing third position in federal board HSSC-II annual examination.
In Science group (regular) 7,506 students were appeared in HSSC-II exams, of which 3,859 male students and 3647 females’ students took part. Of them 5,376 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 71.62 percent and 2130 were declared fail.
In Humanities group (regular) 7,827 students appeared, in which 1,207 male students and 6,620 female students took part, in which 5,846 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 74.69 and 1,980 were declared fail. In Pre-Medical group (regular) 6,846 students appeared, in which 1,394 male students and 5,452 female students took part, in which 6,137 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 89.64 while 700 were declared fail.
In Pre-Engineering group (regular) 10,026 students appeared, in which 7,360 male students and 2,666 female students took part, in which 8,705 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 86.82 while 1,138 were declared fail. Similarly 9,426 private students’ submitted applications for HSSC-II examination, among which 8,969 students were appeared in examination, out of which 4,983 students were declared successful with the percentage of 55.56 and 3,982 students declared fail.
In Science’s groups (Private) 3,458 students appeared, in which 2,441 students passed the examination and 1,017 were declared fail.
In Art’s groups (Private) 5,511 students appeared, in which 2,542 students passed the examination and 2,969 were declared fail.
According to FBISE, this year 11 unfair-means cases were reported. A judicious procedure was adopted to decide the cases and there in every effort was made to ensure the personal hearing was allowed to all concerned. The FBISE had also posted the results on its official website, (www.fbise.edu.pk) and students could also learn about results by sending an SMS in the format of FB< space> [roll number] to unified code of 5050.
All candidates placed under compartment are allowed to re-appear in the failing subjects.
Applications for re-checking of papers could be submitted within 30 days of declaration of result, till September 11, 2011.
The HSSC-II supplementary examination will be held on October 6, 2011 with normal fee last date up to 05-09-2011 and with double fee last date up to 12-09-2011.
Addressing to prize distribution ceremony Federal Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada lauding the efforts of students said that these youngsters are the builders of this nation and he was hopeful after completion of professional education, these students will actively participate in country’s progress. ‘Hard work, commitment and dedication of these students will help these students to achieve their objectives and I am hopeful these youngsters will continue to excel academically and earn laurels for themselves and make their teachers and parents proud,’ Pirzada said.Daily Times.
