Swat: 06 June: Swat University has announced that Secretary to Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Higher Education Department Mrs. Farah Hamid Khan visited University of Swat. Deputy Chief Planning Officer, Higher Education Department, Muhammad Zaman also accompanied the Secretary. During her visit, the secretary visited all the campuses and site of the university at Ala Abad, Tehsil Charbagh. She visited offices of all the sectional heads and enquired about their progress and problems. Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Swat briefed the secretary about the overall progress made so far by the university. The Vice Chancellor specially highlighted the problems and difficulties faced by the university students and faculty. The secretary was informed that University of Swat is in dire need of space/buildings for its current and future academic activities. Financial status of the university was also discussed with the secretary in detail. The secretary appraised the progress made so far by the University of Swat and assured full support of Higher Education Department to address problems of the University of Swat at higher level. She told that Higher Education Department will assist the university to purchase a suitable building for the current needs of the university. She also assured that Higher Education Department will facilitate University of Swat for acquiring additional land adjacent to the university’s site. She added that people of Swat has suffered a lot in the last few years and the young students in particular have gone through one of their worst period of life. Institutions like University of Swat will play very important role in guiding youth of the area towards bright and right future. The Vice Chancellor, on behalf of the students, faculty, and administration of the university thanked the secretary for sparing her valuable time and visiting the university.
