ISLAMABAD: Implementation of the recommendations of the scientists, academicians and scholars is necessary for national development in the field of education, energy and environment issues.

Ex-minister of state for industries and production Dr Ayat Ullah Durani stated this while addressing the concluding ceremony of an international conference on “Energy and Environment” held under the supervision of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Department of Physics at AIOU auditorium.

He said that no nation could progress without education and research. We should focus our all attention to promote literacy to advance energy efficiency ethic through the presentation of national and worldwide views and the resulting impact on the environment and economic growth.He said such conferences would prove effective as a means of promoting a bilateral exchange of ideas and experiences. Durani said that AIOU under the dynamic leadership of Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi was moving ahead successfully towards its true and basic aim “Education at doorstep of the people” and “Education for all”.

Sangi said Pakistan was their focal point and progress and prosperity of the country is their aim. He said for this purpose they had started to develop programmes according to need of the time. In the concluding ceremony of the three-day international conference, Sangi announced to hold a conference on Education, Energy and Environment. He also nominated Prof Dr Syed Zafar Ilyas for the setting up a core group to find out ways for resolving the issues of energy and environment.Dawn.
