ISLAMABAD, May 26: Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) Chairman Dr Manzoor H Soomro sought the role of electronic and print media in highlighting the issues regarding science, technology and developments in order to develop a science culture which was vital to socio-economic development of the country.
Dr Manzoor H. Soomro called for media`s help while addressing the two-day Science-Media Forum, `Where Science and Media Meet` which was organised by the PSF at its auditorium on Thursday.
Media persons from across the country are participating in the forum to discuss ways and means to create mass awareness about the importance of science and technology.
Highlighting PSF functions and achievements, Dr Soomro said that the PSF had not been getting media support to highlight scientific activities in the country despite its efforts to achieve objectives to promote science and technology.
Dr Soomro cited the examples of Pakistan Museum of Natural History and Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), two important subsidiary organisations of the PSF, which were playing their due role in disseminating scientific information.
