Ninth class girl kidnapping case

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Wajid Ali Durrani has marked an inquiry to DIG Security Dr Mujibur Rehman in ninth class girl kidnapping case.
The case has taken a new turn due to alleged interference of the parliamentary secretary for interior who is using his influence to support the former MPA involved in the case.
Daily Times published a news on May 13 pointing out that Islam Shah son of Wali Jan lodged FIR vide No 182 under section 365 with Aabpara police on May 3, stating that his niece, a resident of sector G-6/2, Islamabad went for tuition but did not return home. Shah came to know that Tahir Mehmood, an employee of Auqaf Department along with some other persons had allegedly kidnapped the girl and shifted to Qaiser Amin Butt’s “Dera” in Lahore. Butt is a former MPA.
PML-N Senator Parvaiz Rasheed took notice of the news, called the aggrieved party and assured that the girl would be recovered. Police was sent to Butt’s dera, due to which police and Butt’s companions exchanged firing and another FIR was registered against them in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Judicial Magistrate Malik Naeem Shoukat issued warrants for Butt and his personal secretary Faisal Mailk but they allegedly approached Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Muhammad Akmal Khan and on Khan’s instructions Shoukat re-heard the case at his house and changed his own orders. As the result ASJ was transferred from Islamabad. ASJ Rifat Sultan Sheikh has issued production order of the girl for June 6.
The girl was kidnapped on May 2 but the accused did not record their statements under section 164 in front of relevant judge nor they produced the girl in relevant court and they even did not bother to come to the court during hearing regarding their bail.
According to sources, Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Captain (r) Rai Ghulam Mujtaba Kharral has instructed the IGP to again start an inquiry. The IGP has marked the inquiry to DIG Security who has instructed police to call both the parties in Diplomatic Enclave separately and record their statements. The sources said the accused feared that if girl gave a statement against them in the court, according to law they could be awarded lifetime prison. They said there was a possibility that the accused might file a statement in front of DIG Security and that statement would be produced in the court as they have already filed an application that there is threat of life to girl and police were not cooperating with them.Daily times.
