NUML orientation session for newly enrolled students

ISLAMABAD:04 February: In order to introduce and brief the new students, who have just enrolled in different disciplines and programmes, and their parents about features of the particular discipline, scheme of study, National University of Modern Languages (NUML) started its two-day orientation session and reception on Friday.

The basic objective behind the orientation was to explain to the parents and the students what actually is being offered in a particular discipline and how a student can put his/her best with the help of coordinated efforts of the teachers and parents. Talking to this scribe, NUML Director General, Brig Azam Jamal said that “it is an effort to bring teachers and parents of the students on board so that they both can play an effective role and guide them towards a better future”. On the first day of this two-day orientation session, Faculty of Engineering and IT and Faculty of Management Sciences held the orientation sessions for the newly enrolled students and their parents. Col (R) Jameel Ahmed Zia, Naveed Alam and Prof Naseer Rajpoot briefed the students of engineering, IT and management sciences, respectively.

A great number of parents and students attended the session and appreciated the initiative of the university for bringing the teachers, students and parents together at one platform.

“I was actually interested to visit and know about the campus, faculty, scheme of study, exam system and facilities which are being offered by the university to my daughter who has just got admission in MCS programme of the university,” stated Tahir Saeed Malik, a parent of a student.

This orientation session will also continue today (Saturday) and Faculty of English Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Languages will brief the new-coming students in the Johar Block Hall and this session will start at 10am and will last till 5pm.Daily Times.
