Parents day at Uswa College

Islamabad:November 20:The 4th annual parents day and prize distribution ceremony of the Uswa College was held here on Saturday. World Federation of KJSIMC, UK President Dr. Asgarali Moledina was the chief guest on the occasion.

Prior to the official commencement of the ceremony the students displayed a variety of physical fitness stunts and activities to entertain their guests. The activities included guard of honour, inspection of parade, march past, pt display, gymnastics, karate and martial arts skills breaking the bricks, stunts with swords, self defence techniques and jumping through the rings of fire. It also included the jumping through big hurdles and climbing skills. The parents appreciated their children’s co-ordination, skills and confidence throughout the performances and witnessed them with joy and jubilation.

The programme then proceeded with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Qur’aan and then after the recitation of Na’at. Uswa College Principal Brigadier (r) Ghulam Ali highlighted the college achievements. He said that the college starts from class 7th and it’s a hostel also in which the students are provided boarding and lodging facility along with the teaching facility. He informed the parents that the college has produced excellent results in Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary School Certificate examinations 2011 held under the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. The college position in Matric is 7th among 761 schools and 16th in FSc among 351 colleges. This was all made possible through the dedication of faculty and administration and handwork of students. He said that the Iqra Foundation Islamabad awarded Uswa College Islamabad two shields, one for standing 2nd in SSC and the other for standing 4th in HSSC in annual exams of FBISE 2011 among all the educational institutions of Islamabad District.

The principal informed the parents that it was an honour for the college to be selected by the government’s scholarship programme for talented students of Baluchistan and currently five students are studying in the college.

Later, he thanked the dignitaries who supported and financed the construction of the hostel, mosque and the facility of the filtered water to the college. He then took pride in the fact that in the college magazine ‘Uswa 2011,’ they have published the ‘Rehmat-ul-lil-Alameen Khatoot Number’ containing 100 letters of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him) with English and Urdu translation along with the socio-historic background of addresses that has not been done by any educational institute.

The chief guest Dr. Asgarali Moledina said that Uswa College is catering to the most critical stage of students and teaching them the skills of life, which they will cherish for the rest of their lives. “If this age is neglected then the whole life is destroyed and this college is making sure that the students become the role models with Islamic values and can choose their careers of their own choice,” he said.

Later the chief guest distributed prizes among the students, who excelled in academics and in extra curricular activities.The news.
