Peshawar University Vice Chancellor lauded KP Government's announcement

Peshawar: 11 May: The Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz has lauded the announcement of allocating 4% of the GDP for education by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the coming fiscal budget. The Vice Chancellor termed the step as a major mild stone in achieving the required improvement in education as well as increase in literacy rate.
Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz said that a sum of rupees Sixty four billion is proposed to be allocated for education in the provincial budget, which shows interest of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in bringing the required educational reforms.
After the eighteenth constitutional amendment, higher education has become a provincial subject. We request the KP government to allocate adequate funds for Universities so as to bring higher education up to the global standards, he added.
