Professional development training for teachers starts

Islamabad:February 18:The opening ceremony of the Cambridge International Certificate for Teachers and Trainers (CICTT) was held at the RAPID Training Academy at the Roots School System, G-8 Campus, here on Friday.

The CICTT is a practice-based qualification for continuing professional development, relevant to all teaching and learning contexts. This is the second batch of the international training whereby successful candidates are awarded certificates from the University of Cambridge. A batch of 26 branch heads, academic coordinators and senior teachers are enrolled in the programme. The certificate programme is being conducted by the Roots Academy for Professional and Intellectual Development (RAPID).

RAPID is the brainchild of RSS Executive Director Walid Mushtaq and is dedicated to accelerate teachers growth as professionals. Every RAPID course features internationally recognised educational experts. The programme is being conducted by the Cambridge Certified Programme Leader in collaboration with four noted master trainers. The certificate covers a range of relevant professional activities, to match the particular needs of candidates and context. This is a professional level qualification based on the candidates current professional practice.

The three-month course comprises three core modules, developing a new teaching approach, facilitating active learning and reflecting on practice.

On the occasion, Walid Mushtaq said that they believe in inculcating the best professional practices in educators through international and national qualifications. “Our professional development resources are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of teachers. We value our teachers and through our various training endeavours aim to promote 21st century learning, global best practices and technology integration in education,” he said. The news.
