PESHAWAR:December 17: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti Friday said promotion of education from primary to higher level was top priority of the present elected government. He said this when chairing a joint meeting of higher ups education department and senior administration of DFID. Participants of the meeting were Provincial education Minister Sardar Hussain Babak, Secretary Education Mushtaq Jadoon, Secretary P&D Salim Khan, Deputy Secretary Finance, Chairman DFID, Deputy Program Manager and other senior office bearers. Government is taking practical steps for establishment of new educational institutes along with its stability and improvement in existing facilities were underway. Assistance Plan of DFID in education sector for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was discussed in detail on the occasion and important decisions were taken. The CM said that his government was giving the most attention to spreading light of education after establishment of peace in the province and we were committed for ensuring common man access to education at all levels. He said that remarkable steps have been undertaken for providing education to youth at their doorstep and encouraging youth studying was also part of our priorities. He lauded support and assistance of DFID and said that the project will usher new opportunities and pleasant changes. He hoped that merit will be maintained in giving effect to the program. Review meeting after every two months in this connection was agreed during the meeting. DFID higher ups lauded government policies and priorities in education sector and thanked provincial education minister and other authorities from education department on their support and cooperation. Meanwhile, addressing a jirga comprising notables from Union Council Ghanbad and Kandar, Mardan, the CM said that Abdul Wali Khan University, Bacha Khan Medical College and mega projects of generalizing health and transport facilities in Mardan were the right of the people, added, Mardan was overlooked in the past 63 years. He said that being a son of Mardan, it was my duty to develop Mardan and provide facilities in all sectors to people of Mardan. ANP Vice President Engineer Abbas and district office bearers along with Javed Yousufzai were also present.F.P.Report.
