Promotion of colleagues annoys some CDA officers

ISLAMABAD:14 June: Diploma Holder and B-Tech Engineers Association of Capital Development Authority on Wednesday vowed to intensify the protest against illegal promotions, violating the Pakistan Engineering Council Act and Islamabad High Court orders.

Talking to Online, Diploma Holder Association President Aslam Gondal said that the IHC had ordered not to promote graduate engineers on posts of the diploma holders. "The authority has recently ordered promotion of sixteen assistant directors to deputy director violating the court orders," he stated.

"Out of these 16 promoted officers, 13 were selected from graduate engineers, whereas the promotion quota was specified for diploma holders and B-Tech engineers," he asserted. He said they had visited the chairman’s office on Tuesday but failed to hold a meeting with him due to his business.

He stated that in absence of the CDA chairman, Member (Environment) Mian Waheeduddin assured them that the issue would be considered on priority basis. He further told this scribe that a meeting would be held with Prime Minister’s Chief Co-ordinator on Islamabad Faisal Sakhi Butt to bring the issue in his notice.

All the affectees of the recent orders partially boycotted from their duties and declared that they would visit Chairman Office again on Thursday. online.Daily Times.
