جب کہ 31 جولائی 2009 کو سپریم کورٹ نے اپنے تاریخی فیصلے میں مشرف دور کے تمام آمرانہ آرڈیننسز کو متعلقہ اسمبلیوں سے منظور کرانے کے لئے تین ماہ کا وقت دیا۔ سپریم کورٹ کے فیصلے اور دیگر حقائق کے باجود یونیورسٹی کے وی سی نے غیر قانونی اکیڈمک کونسل کا اجلاس منعقد کر دیا۔
مقررین نے مطالبہ کیا کہ اعلی عدلیہ کے فیصلے کے خلاف ورزی کا نوٹس لیا جائے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس غیر آئینی اجلاس کے کسی فیصلے کو تسلیم نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ علاوہ ازیں اے ایس اے کی نومنتخب کابینہ کی تقریب حلف برداری 5 جولائی کو شام لاء کالج کوئٹہ میں ہو گی۔
