Roots College G-8 Campus Convocation

ISLAMABAD:25 April: Roots College International G-8 Metropolitan Campus held its annual convocation and high achievers’ ceremony at the Jinnah Convention Centre to commemorate the triumph of the graduating students.

Rounds of applause from students and parents rocked the hall when chief guests Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistani Farooq Sattar, and the guest of honour, PM’s Task Force on Islamabad Chairman Faisal Sakhi Butt entered the hall.

Roots School System Executive Director Walid Mushtaq commended the untiring efforts of Rootsians who got acceptances on scholarship from opulent universities of the world.

He praised the acceptance of Najib Ishaq, a student of A Levels, who got acceptances from Brown University with 100 percent scholarship of $226,560, Ohio Wesleyn University with a scholarship of $ 110,000, University of South Carolina with 100 percent scholarship, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with 100 percent Scholarship; Ali Naeem, who got acceptances from New York University on 100 percent scholarship of $247,840, Rochester University on 100 percent scholarship of $220,200, Florida Institute of Technology with a scholarship of $76,000, Massachusetts College of Health Science with a scholarship of $52,000, Syracuse University on 100 percent scholarship of $200,600 and from Hartford University; Aroosa Batool, who got acceptances from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY, with an international scholars’ award of $60,000 and from Mary Mount Manhattan College; Aazar bin Nouman, who got acceptance from Florida Institute of Technology with a scholarship of $48,000; Hassan Ejaz, who got acceptances from Florida Institute of Technology with a scholarship of $40,000, from Drexel University; Daraab Kiani, who got acceptances from Grinnel College, Iowa, USA, with a scholarship of $104,000, University of Western Ontario, Ohio, Wesleyn University with a scholarship of $ 90,000 and York University; Raza Jaffery, who got acceptance from Florida Institute of Technology with a scholarship of $60,000, and more than 100 students who got acceptances from the top universities across the globe, including University of Aberdeen, University of Warwick, Durham University, University of Leeds, Loughborough University, University of Sussex, University of Northampton, Cardiff University, University of Birmingham, University of Leicester, University of Manchester, University of Edinburgh, Lancaster University, Bangor University, University of Derby, Staffordshire University, University of West London, Teesside University, London South Bank University, University of Bradford and University of Liverpool.

Another round of applause thundered across the hall after the speeches of chief guests and the guest of honour, who eminently brought the significance of education into the limelight and its impact towards serving humanity.

Changez Jamali also accredited the distinguished gumption and vigour of Walid Mushtaq, and announced the names of graduating students and congratulated them for their successful completion of A-Levels. pr.
