A supplementary grant of Rs89 million has been approved by the Finance Division for the time-scale upgradation of teachers.
The grant has been approved to meet the salary expenses of the upgraded teachers. However, the teachers community refused to accept the time-scale upgradation without giving one grade upgradation.
The teachers refused to call off their strike till their complete demand one grade upgradation with time scale upgradation is not met. They said that though the implementation of time-scale promotion formula has been their long-standing demand to promote the teachers, yet major demand was the one-step upgradation to compensate the teachers who have been working in the same grades for the last 20 years.The news.
