Speaker orders to make ghost schools functional Sets

PESHAWAR:25 April: Speaker Khyber Pakhunkhwa Assembly, Kiramat Ullah Khan directed the education department to devise a comprehensive plan for making ghost schools functional and present a detailed report of the matter in the upcoming meeting on May 9.
He was presiding over a joint meeting of Education, Finance and C&W departments in Assembly Conference here on Tuesday.
He also directed to identify the presence of ghost schools and stressed for taking cogent measure to start educational activities in these schools.
The meeting among others was attended by MPAs, Abdul Akbar Khan, Muhammad Zamin, and Mukhtiar Ali Khan besides officials of concerned departments.
The participants of the meeting expressed grief over the revelations of the presence of 27 ghost schools in district Peshawar and termed it a result of ill planned policies of the previous governments.
The officials of the education department explained that land dispute was the main reason behind ghost schools.
Kiramat Ullah said that to start education in non operating schools is a challenge adding an elaborate plan would be devised on the issue in the next meeting.APP.
