SWABI, Oct 13: All BPS-15 certified teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be promoted soon, claimed provincial chairman All CT Teacher Association (ACTTA) Wahab Mansori here on Wednesday.
Mr Mansori told reporters here that during a recent meeting, provincial education minister Sardar Hussain Babak and senior ministry officials assured an ACTTA delegation of an early promotion of certified teachers from BPS-15 to BPS-16 as the Punjab government did of late.
“We’re told that the government has decided to promote certified teachers in line with their longstanding demand and it will be formally notified soon,” he said.
The chairman ACTTA claimed that the education minister also accepted the association’s demand for appointment of certified teachers to basic pay scale of 14 promising an early issuance of an order in this respect. He said currently, certified teachers were posted to BPS-9 before being gradually promoted to BPS-14 and BPS-15.
Mr Mansori said according to Babak’s assurance, 20 per cent certified teachers would be directly promoted as subject specialists and, while the promotion of the rest would be done through the provincial Public Service Commission.
Meanwhile, representatives of Malgary Ustazan, an ANP wing of teachers in public sector schools, on Wednesday met the party’s central president, Asfandyar Wali, and pressed him for ensuring introduction of a proper service structure, and perks and privileges for teachers, especially certified tecahers.
The provincial general secretary of Malgary Ustazan told Dawn that the wing expected that the provincial Public Service Commission would complete recruitment of senior English teachers by the end of the current month.Nation.
