Islamabad:To pay a unique creative tribute to legendary poet, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, NuktaArt joined Kuch Khaas to celebrate the words and wisdom of the iconic poet through art.
Though Faiz has inspired many poets, artists, and intellectuals around the globe with his enriching and enlightened poetry reflecting his revolutionary thoughts of freedom and humanism, but this is perhaps the first initiative taken by NuktaArt to capture his wisdom with strokes of colour on canvas.
In a media briefing held at Kuch Khaas here on Saturday, Harris Khalique said that through creative collaborations with various art institutions of the country to mark Faiz centenary, creative magazine NuktaArt has taken the unique step to highlight the life and works of Faiz through an art competition titled ‘Exploring Faiz through art’.
He informed the audience that the venture aims to collect aesthetic expression and creative thought process of about 2000 artists from all around Pakistan in sketching the innovative and inspired dimensions of Faiz’s poetry.
Along with Pakistani artists, art students and artists from India have also been invited for the competition to promote Faiz’s message of peace and harmony, Harris added. The aspiring participants are advised to collect a specially designed post card for this art competition from National Art Gallery, National College of Arts, Rawalpindi Campus, and Khaas Art Gallery in Islamabad. The participating artists are to work on the title chosen for the competition ‘Aap ka paigham, Faiz key naam’. The specially designed postcard provides specific space for the participant to work on their visuals as well as their message to Faiz. The entries must be submitted at NAG, NCA Rawalpindi, or Khaas by July 15th for selection.
The selected entries would be displayed at an exhibition and the proceeds from the sale of the art works would be donated for the rehabilitation of flood affected Potters’ of Southern Punjab. The news.
