PESHAWAR:June 06: The University of Peshawar Academic Council in its meeting held on Tuesday decided to establish three new departments.
These include the departments of Tourism and Hotel Management, Health and Physical Education and Criminology.
The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz.
A committee headed by the Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Dr Farooq Swati, was constituted to recommend relevant courses for the departments for approval from the Academic Council and other relevant bodies.
The meeting also approved various academic courses including diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance and Human Resource Management to be taught at the university.
Meanwhile, the department of environmental sciences celebrated “The World Environment Day.” Video clips were shown to the members of the Academic Council highlighting the key environmental problems causing damage to the economy of the country.The news.
