Peshawar: 28 Oct: An International Conference on, “Pakistan: Challenges to Democracy, Governance and National Unity” was jointly organized by Pakistan Study Centre and Department of History, University of the Punjab on 24-25 October, 2011. Three Scholars from University of Peshawar presented their papers in the conference. Prof. Dr. A. Z. Hilali Department of Political Science University of Peshawar delivered his paper on “Talibanization and its Socio-Cultural and Economic Impact on Pakistan’s State and Society”. Dr. Zahid Anwar, Associate Professor Area Study Centre University of Peshawar presented his paper on “The Rise and Fall of Insurgency in North-West Pakistan” and Dr . S.H.S. Soherwordi, Assistant Professor, Department of International Relations University of Peshawar spoke on “ Ungoverned Spaces in Pakistan: Character, Dynamics and Implications”. Apart from scholars from USA, Russia, France, Germany and Turkey many scholars from different Universities of Pakistan contributed their research findings on different aspects of the issue. The scholars from University of Peshawar left marked imprint on the delegates by their solid inputs.
