VCs to take up varsities problems with governor

PESHAWAR:April 17: The vice-chancellors of the public sector universities on Monday discussed the issues being faced by their institutions and decided to raise them in a meeting with Governor Masood Kausar, who is also the chancellor.The meeting was presided over by University of Engineering and Technology Vice-Chancellor Syed Imtiaz Gilani who is convener for the vice-chancellors’ central and provincial committee.
The vice-chancellors reiterated the stance to resolve the issues of the release of universities’ funds and arrears and financial regulations. They also discussed the proposed Higher Education Amendment Bill, 2012 and issues pertaining to the universities’ autonomous stature. The meeting was attended by all vice-chancellors and representatives of public sector universities and senior officials.The news.
