BARA: Two government primary schools and a bridge were blown up by militants in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency early Wednesday, local residents said.
They said that powerful explosions were triggered by militant by placing explosives in two government primary schools for boys in Sayyal Khan Killay and Haji Ghulam Sher Killay in Akakhel area of Bara tehsil.
With the fresh incident the number of destroyed schools reached 46 in Khyber Agency over the last two years. A bridge between Janikhwar area of Peshawar district and Ajab Talab area of Bara was also detonated by militants.
Sources said the militants also exchanged fire with the police for around an hour. The sources said the clash took place after a police party reached the site of the explosion. The third school, Government Primary School Landay Killay, was blown up by militants near Aman Talab in Akakhel area of Bara tehsil. Daily Times.
