IIUI receives OIC Education Directory 2011-12

Islamabad: 08 July: Public Relations Department of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has received OIC Education Directory 2011-12 today. It has been published by the OIC International Business Center in collaboration with the Malaysian Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia OIC Trade Chamber. The directory which is spread over 370 pages carries information about the educational institutions of the Muslim world in detail. The Directory has also published country profiles of the Muslim countries ranging from their culture to educational spheres. The Prime Minister of Malaysia Muhammad Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak has written its foreword in which he has stressed upon the importance of research and development in the field of science and technology. He said with the severe competition among countries to be the most competitive and knowledge based economy, it is of importance that the Islamic world catch-up and be at par with the rest. And this depends on how well they perform in research activities.
He further said that in line with that, quality education is pertinent in the hope of seeing Muslim countries advance their R&D. He added that “A comprehensive guide such as the 2nd OIC Education Directory will in a way complement the efforts of Malaysia, among the countries listed, to be the choice of study destination offering sound education and affordable cost”. The directory has given basic information of the IIUI along with other universities of Pakistan as well.
