Once two friends started on a long journey. They had to pass through a thick forest. So they promised to stand together and face a foe bravely.
They had not gone far off when they saw a wild bear coming towards him. They decided to face the danger boldly. When the bear came nearer. The selfish man climbed up a tree leaving the faithful friend all alone. The other did not know how to climb up a tree so he fell flat on the ground and held his breath as the bear came near him. The bear smelt him all over Talking him for a dead body the bear soon left him.
When the danger was over and the bear had gone the selfish friend descended from the tree and said what did the bear whisper in your ear? The faithful friend said. The bear whispered that a friend in need is a friend indeed.
