Opening up varsities?

Reference the proposal for an IT university in GOR I, we agree with the letter opposing the move, as it would be impractical to locate a college/university in the midst of sensitive officials' residences. However, a better proposal could be shifting the Governor's House to the Chief Minister's House and converting its present premises into a university. The huge area of the Governor's House would be ideal for a medical/engineering university. Due to its ideal location on the Mall, with easy approach from different localities, it would be really convenient for the poor students who should get free education here. While doing this, it should be ensured that the historic buildings within the compound should not be altered. There is ample space in the present Governor's House for new buildings. A whole education city can be built here.
