Malakand University Chemistry Department inaugurated

PESHAWAR: University of Malakand (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Rasul Jan has said that education was key to the prosperity of any nation and the UoM would play that role for the development of the country.

Speaking to faculty members and students on the occasion of inauguration of Chemistry Department, the vice-chancellor said the UoM was being developed in a manner to meet the international standards so that it became a centre for quality education. He said the funds, proper infrastructure and human resource were essential for making the institute a successful one that could provide quality education. He said that efforts were being made to move towards development of infrastructure in the UoM to have a better environment for education.

Controller Examination Shahid Khan, Department of Chemistry Chairman Prof Dr Sultan Alam, Dr Ezat Khan, Dr Fazal Maboob, faculty members and students attended the inaugural ceremony.

Prof Dr Sultan Alam spoke on the present state of chemistry and said that the first batch had 38 students in four-year BS programme, 40 students in two-year MSc programme and 25 students in MPhil/PhD Programme.The news
