PEF providing free education to 1.2m
Lahore : 11 September : THE Punjab Education Foundation is providing free education to 12 lakh deserving children in Punjab through its Foundation Assisted School programme which is being run through public-private partnership at the district level.
According to a handout issued on Tuesday, MD Punjab Education Foundation Nawazish Ali stated this while addressing the Districts’ Coordination Meeting at Jinnah Hall Sahiwal on Tuesday. Besides, representatives of FAS partner schools of Pakistan, Sahwal, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Okara and Vehari, DMD Finance Salman Anwar Malik, Director FAS Nadeem Masood, Director CPDP Bushra Saeed and Additional Directors also attended the meeting.
PEF MD in his address expressed satisfaction that the FAS programme has proved successful in providing free education to the deserving children and added that provision of free education to 12 lakh students in 36 districts is a clear manifestation of its success. Currently, about 2200 private schools are partnered with the PEF under this programme, he said. He said that provision of quality education is the top most priority of the Punjab government, adding the PEF is greatly contributing to achieving targets of educational vision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

 

The PEF MD further told the media that according to the DFID’s analysis, attendance rate of Pakistani teachers is best in all 22 countries where DFID is working. He further said that a five-year expansion plan has been chalked out to accommodate maximum number of out of school children.The news.
