KARACHI:27 September: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has said that the purpose of transferring the controlling powers of Universities to Sindh government was aimed to bring drastic improvement in education. This he said while presiding over a meeting to review the progress of the committees that have been constituted to deliberate on the legal and administrative aspects for the effective governance at CM House on Thursday. He said that further amendments to ensure the objectives with competent administration are underway. Addressing the meeting the CM said that the future of our nation depends upon education and it was high time to standardise the educational institutions. The committee has been made to have proper and effective legislation for the composition of syndicate, selection of Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examination and Director Finance. The CM stressed upon the members of the committee to evolve such a procedure that could resolve all bottlenecks, that had been experienced in past. Senior Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Secretary Education Nazir Jamali, Sindh University former VC Mazharul Haq Siddiqui and others attended the meeting.Daily Times.
