Federal Government College Mehfil-e-Milad
Rawalpindi : September 27: To pay homage to the ‘Saviour of Humanity,’ the annual ‘Mehfil-e-Milad’ of Federal Government Postgraduate College for Women, Kashmir Road, was held in the Salma Masud Auditorium here on Thursday.
Some former faculty members also attended the ‘Mehfil-e-Milad’. Girls clad in green ‘dupattas’, on a beautifully decorated stage with the names of Allah and the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him), created the right kind of ambience.
‘Mehfil-e-Milad’ commenced with the recitation of Quranic verses by Shaista Zahid. Irum Shabbir and her group presented ‘Hamd-e-Bari Tala’. Uzma Manzoor, Qainat Mohib, Ammara Mughal, Syeda Wajeeha Zahra, Shehzadi Ambreen, Hira Abdul Karim, Irum Shabbir, Mishal ahmed, Rehana Gul, Mehreen Bibi, Aneela Batool and Sumbal Zahid presented ‘naats’ with utmost reverence and religious fervour that moved the hearts of all present in the ‘Milad’. Devoutly presented ‘Darood-e-Pak’ all through the ‘mehfil’ was adding to the solemnity of the occasion.
Fazeela Rehman, President Islamic Society, in her speech quoted references from the Old Testament and Bible about the advent of the last Prophet of God, Muhammad (peace be upon him). Afia Mushtaq Bhatti highlighted the different facets and qualities that were compressed in the exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the utmost degree. Syeda Sadaf Tahira spoke on ‘Islam a Great Blessing’. Finally, ex-principal Shaista Zaid distributed certificates among the participants.The news.
