Thin attendance at PU
Lahore: Thin attendance was reported at the Punjab University (PU) following its reopening after four days on Friday. The university remained closed from Monday to Thursday over the book fair controversy while most of the boarding students had also left the PU hostels. A number of PU teachers said that a few students were present in almost all the departments of the university on Friday as compared to routine days. They said most of the boarding students remained absent as Friday was a half day and Saturday was also a holiday at the university. Proper academic activities would resume from Monday after their return from their hometowns, they added. PU Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan said around 70 per cent students showed up on Friday, adding that the proper academic activities would resume from Monday.
