Punjab University Professors are unparallel: Vice Chancellor

LAHORE (September 05): Punjab University Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mujahid Kamran has said that Punjab University selects only those persons as professors who have meritorious research work and international repute. They are unparallel everywhere.

He was talking to a delegation of Punjab University Retired Professors Association consisted of Professor Muhammad Saleem, Professor Khawaja Zakria, and Professor Javed Iqbal. Dr. Mujahid Kamran said that there is no example of a Punjab University Professor who had not continued doing valuable work till the day of his/her death. He said that the retired professors are always very much respected by the existing faculty, students and administration of the university. He deplored that there has been no appointment of Professor Emeritus for the last many years. He vowed that sufficient funds will be allocated for attending seminars and the research projects helped by the retired professors. He also asked the registrar to keep a complete data of retired professors of the university and on occasions their names should be sent to the government for consultancy and advisory services.

Registrar Dr. Naeem Khan, Additional Registrar Aurangzeb Alamgir, Treasurer Amjad Saleemi, and Additional Treasurer Rao Sharif were also present on the occasion. The Vice Chancellor also invited the retired professors to have an Iftar with him sometime.
