Workshop on Higher education at University of Engineering Peshawar
Peshawar :August 20: A three-day workshop of Higher Education working group on “Reforms in Higher Education” was inaugurated at the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar on Monday.
The workshop, being held in collaboration with Higher Education Department (HED), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is aimed to review and propose recommendations for restructuring and reorganisation of higher education to ensure contribution to sustainable development.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Higher Education, Farah Hamid said there were a debate in academic as well as government circles to bring improvement in education sector.She said a paradigm shift was now visible for the first time as the government initiated the process of releasing funds. He stressed the need to formulate policy recommendations so that required funds were allocated and real change was brought at grassroots level.
The government has embarked upon increasing access, enhancing quality and bringing relevance to education therefore; the recommendations will be made on these lines to the government of Khyber Pakht-unkhwa,” she added.The news.
