Shindh government is pondering Formation of Citizens Education

The Shindh government is pondering the formation of the Citizens Education Liaison Committee (CELC), said Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister, Sharmila Farooqui.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, she said that the proposed CELC would function on the pattern of the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and would be formed in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the CPLC.

The adviser said that the Sindh government was paying special attention towards the education and health sectors, and the formation of the CELC was a step in that direction.

Farooqui announced that every possible step would be taken for the development and betterment of the educational institutions in the province. She pointed out that under the Sindh Education Reforms Project, the Resource Support Unit has ensured steps for the betterment of education with the collaboration of the World Bank.

The adviser said that under this programme, school buildings would be rehabilitated and the academic standard would be improved. She further stated that rehabilitation and development work of 1,000 schools has also been completed

Farooqui said that the enrolment rates, especially in girls schools, would also be enhanced, while 330,000 girls would be enrolled in schools this year.
