HEC to Boost Higher Education in Punjab
Islamabad :August 19 : The Higher Education Commission and Punjab Government have agreed to undertake collaborative efforts to strengthen higher education sector in the province.
It was decided during the meeting of Punjab Minister for Higher Education, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan with HEC Chairman Dr. Javaid R. Laghari.
During the meeting, various issues pertaining to effective implementation of Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, establishment of country’s first ever laptop manufacturing and assembling plant, idea of knowledge city at Lahore, establishment of foreign campuses and universities at different cities of Punjab, Enrolment Emergency Campaign, provision of internet connectivity to colleges and improvement of quality of college education in Punjab etc were discussed.
The minister lauded the contribution of HEC and its management for brining Pakistani higher education sector at par with international standards. The minister also appreciated the idea of establishment of country’s first ever laptop manufacturing and assembling plant and assured his utmost support in this regard.The news.
