Promoting value-based education through audio-visual aids
Rawalpindi:April 13:Based on the theme of value-based education, an interesting exhibition of models reflecting Early Childhood Teaching-Learning Audio-Visual aids was held at the Hashoo Foundation’s Human Development Resource Centre here Wednesday.
Having completed their theoretical training, trainees of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Training Programme showcased their creative and critical thinking through low-cost no-cost material.
Available on show were models reflecting key learning areas comprising exercises of practical life, culture, arts, mathematics, language, and science related to early education of a child. Illustrative presentations, utilisation of waste materials, and reading corners demonstrated the standards of creativity and innovation. The exhibition was an outcome of a two-week rigorous work of four batches under Hashoo Foundation’s ECD programme.

Ayesha Khan, country director of Hashoo Foundation, graced the event as chief guest. “There is a better understanding today than ever before as how children learn and what kind of activities serve as efficient means and tools of learning. Research has shown that audio-visual materials can make a significant contribution to learning,” she stated. Ayesha stressed the need to provide quality education from an early age.

Fida Karim, the head of Education, congratulated the trainees and highlighted the importance of value-based education and considered as a component of early education. “Value-based education is the main crux of the holistic development of a child,” he pointed out. Linking the theme with the exhibition, he highlighted the importance of audio-visual aids and how they make the training methodology more effective in early childhood education. The news.
