Jamshoro, Saturday 27 January 2018: Technological boom has fast changed the world in a global village with cultures, the miraculous convenience of connectivity and contact among individuals, groups, communities, countries and continents. This was stated by VC-SU Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat on the eve of laptop distribution ceremony under Prime Minister’s National Laptop Scheme held at Senate Hall of VC-Secretariat yesterday. Dr. Burfat further said, ‘Just a quick comparison between the past and the current decades brings us to an utter state of amazement bordering almost on disbelief to witness the magical advancements in the field of science and technology; whereby we cover distances of millions of miles by a flip of finger’. The Vice-Chancellor added that the next decade would fetch new wonders, surprises and innovations that would obliterate the ongoing day’s modernity as obsolete. “Such is the startling pace and dynamism of technological shift in the globe”, he stressed. Dr. Burfat said that the Prime Minister’s laptop scheme had come to Pakistan’s youth as a great educational boon, ensuring for them uninterrupted interface with knowledge and human world. He said the award of laptops to youth belonging to less developed areas with humble financial backgrounds was highly commendable; as those youth would not otherwise be able to afford purchase of such highly useful but expensive (for them) device even during their entire stay at the campuses.
