Gomal University launches online academic activities
DERA ISMAIL KHAN:18 April: Gomal University has launched a learning management system for the online academic activities.

Talking to media persons, Prof Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor of Gomal University, said the varsity was the first among public sector universities availing computational activities for the fulfillment of academic goals. The vice-chancellor said that after coronavirus lockdown, the university took the initiative to come up with an online mechanism for academic activities. He said the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) had been assigned the task to monitor the operational activities of the learning management system under the set parameters of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Director Academics Dr Naimatullah Babar, Engineer Information Technology Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad, Dr Shakeebullah Director Information Technology, Dr Ejaz Ahmad, Dr Muhammad Zahid, head of the Pharmacy department were also present. To a question, Dr Iftikhar Ahmad said almost 80 to 90 percent of students had registered for online learning. He said online academic activities would ensure quality education.

He said that a comprehensive strategy was to be devised to conduct examination and evaluation of the participating students. The vice-chancellor added that 79 foreign students of Gomal University from African and Arab countries were also benefiting from the online learning activities.The news.
