Pakistani students to attend SAARC event in Japan
ISLAMABAD: Nine Pakistani high school students and a teacher will attend the Japan-SAARC High School Students Invitation Programme scheduled to be held from June 23 to July 2 in Japan. Embassy of Japan in Pakistan will arrange the visit.

Selection of the students was made by the embassy in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad.

Total 72 students and eight teachers from the SAARC countries will be participating in the programme.

The programme will provide an opportunity to the SAARC high school students to learn about Japan’s state of the art technologies and efforts made by the host country for environmental conservation.

The students will attend a forum on ‘Environment’ and also visit sites in Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto that would help them understand the society, history and culture of Japan.

Students will also visit a high school in Japan and stay with host families to experience Japanese lifestyle.

Chihiro Atsumi, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, handed over travel documents to the students and a teacher on Wednesday at a ceremony held at the Embassy of Japan.

Ambassador Atsumi congratulated the recipients and wished them a safe journey.Daily times
