Punjab University Vice-Chancellor chairs meeting of HEC scholars
LAHORE (APP): Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran chaired a meeting of PU's HEC PhD and MPhil scholars to discuss issues relating to supervision of research theses, funds, hostel allotment, access to international research journals through internet for references, delay in appointment of examiners and other issues. The meeting held in the auditorium of Undergraduate Block here at New Campus on Wednesday which was attended by Doctoral Programme Coordination Committee Chairperson Prof Dr Shahida Hasnain, Undergraduate Director Prof Dr Jamil Anwar, Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Saeed Ahmad Nagra and about 200 PhD/MPhil scholars. VC said universities creative and research work make them superior from the colleges and if universities do not provide facilities or address the problems of their PhD scholars then this thing will go against them. This is the reason Punjab University called the meeting of PhD scholars so that their problems could be addressed and steps can be taken to resolve their problems, he said. Later the VC opened the house for scholars to discuss their problems.
