99.8% of students pass BISE Hyderabad exams
HYDERABAD:02 October:The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad declared 99.82% of the candidates enrolled in the Secondary School Certificate part II exams successful in the results announced on Saturday.

As many as 70,074 candidates out of 70,201 registered students from eight districts in Hyderabad division and one in Nawabshah division have passed the exams.

Of these, 5,380 students in the science group secured A1 grades, 16,678 A grades, 20,628 B grades and 14,654 C grades.

Harris Razzaque of the Petaro Cadet College clinched the top position scoring 89.29 per cent marks, while Isra Abbas of Bakhtawar Cadet College in Shaheed Benazirabad secured the second position and Warisha Kokhoar and Faeza Junejo of Latif Nizami Memorial Higher Secondary School and Hayat Girls Higher Secondary School, respectively, were awarded the third position.

The number of male candidates, at 45,079, was almost twice that of female candidates, numbering at 24,995. The difference was starker in rural districts of the province.

In Shaheed Benazirabad, there were 8,078 male candidates against 3,726 female candidates, while there were 5,808 male and 2,153 female candidates in Badin district, 3,408 male and 1,645 female candidates in Dadu district, 4,210 male and 2,294 female candidates in Jamshoro district, 3,098 male and 1,315 female candidates in Matiari district.

Comparatively, the difference was narrower in Hyderabad, where 11,731 male and 9,868 female students appeared in the exam.Published in The Express Tribune,
