Punjab University wins team trophy in ‘Women Week' at Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi

LAHORE (Monday, April 06): Punjab University has won the team trophy at a three-day ‘Women Week' organized by the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Rawalpindi. The 12-member PU student team, accompanied by Deputy Adviser Students Muhammad Zubair Akram and Abdul Qadir, participated in the event organized from April 2-4. As many as students of 20 universities including Quaid-e-Azam University, Gomal University, Government College University Lahore, University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, University of Engineering & Technology Taxila, Iqra University, International Islamic University, Bahria University, Arid Agriculture University, Islamia University, Pakistan Institute of Engineering & Applied Sciences participated in the event.

PU Institute of Business Administration (IBA) student Hafiz Hamid Raza in Qiraat competition, Hina Naseem of Hailey College of Banking Finance (HFBF) in Declamation English “S”, Usman Jamshed of College of Art & Design (CAD) in Photography (Coloured) and Painting and Zohra Tanvir Peerzad of College of Art & Design (CAD) in Flower Arrangements clinched first positions respectively.

Asma Imdad of Law College in Naat, Shahid Bilal of Urdu Department in Nazm, Hammad Niazi of Institute of Geology in Ghazal, Hasnain Javaid of Hailey College of Commerce (HCC) and Ambreen Sardar of College of Art & Design (CAD) in Singing (both categories), Asad Ullah Cheema and Zahra Noman of Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) in Short Film/Documentary while team comprising Shahid Bilal of Urdu Department, Atif Ali of College of Information Technology, Maida Arooj, Zohra, Ambreen Sardar of College of Art & Design (CAD), Hasnain Javaid of Hailey College of Commerce (HCC), Hafiz Hamid Raza of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Zahra Noman of Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) in Drama competition bagged second positions respectively.

Maida Arooj of College of Art & Design (CAD) in Painting and Zahra Noman of Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) and Hammad Niazi of Institute of Geology in Quiz competition won third position respectively.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has congratulated the students and heads of their departments on this marvelous achievement and appreciated the efforts of Adviser Students Prof Dr Makshoof Athar and Deputy Adviser Studetns Muhammad Zubair Akram.
