Kidnapped KGS Student Rescued
Karachi :September 18: A grade-III student of Karachi Grammar School was rescued and five kidnappers were arrested on Tuesday in a covert raid in Defence.
The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) police solved the kidnapping for ransom case within a day and busted a gang of kidnappers working in the upscale neighbourhood.
The eight-year-old boy, son of a businessman, was abducted by his driver while being taken to the school on Monday morning, said AVCC’s Inspector Sajjad.
Najam Mehmood, the father of the kidnapped boy, told the police that he was contacted by an unknown caller, who demanded Rs20 million as ransom to release the boy.
The police registered a complaint and started negotiating with the kidnappers. With technical assistance from the Crime Investigation Agency, the suspects’ location was traced to a house on Khyaban-e-Sehar.

The AVCC personnel raided a hideout in Neelam Colony and arrested two men, identified as Ramzan and Hameedullah, after an encounter. However, the boy was not found there.

During interrogation, the arrested men confessed that their gang leader, Nasir who worked as the driver of Mehmood in Defence, had kidnapped the student. They told the police that Nasir along with another accomplice, Shah Niaz, abducted the boy from outside his school and handed him over to Ehsanullah, who worked as a watchman at a bungalow in Defence Phase-VII.

On the information divulged by the two arrested men, the police team then raided the bungalow on Monday night and after an encounter arrested three more men, who were identified as Ehsanullah, Shah Niaz and Inamullah.

While the boy was rescued, the prime suspect in the kidnapping, Nasir, was not present at the house.
