PEC Team Visits Agriculture University Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi : July 30:  The two-member team of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) consist of Prof. Taj Ali Khan, UET Peshawar, and Engineer Jahanzaib Khan, Deputy Registrar (PEC), Peshawar, visited Pir Mehr Ali Shah-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi to assess the facilities and infrastructure for granting the accreditation of Agricultural Engineering programme in the University.
The team met with University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad and was elaborated about the objectives and future plans of Faculty of Agricultural Engineering. The vice chancellor discussed the matters relating to the proposed grant of accreditation Engineering Programme and appreciated the role of Pakistan Engineering Council. He also informed the team that curriculum of programme is designed in such a way to provide quality education to students in field of Agricultural Engineering to meet with the future requirements especially Potohar region farmers and industry both in private and public sectors. “Our programme is designed to provide theoretical as well as practical knowledge in field of Agricultural Engineering so that students can successfully face the fast growing challenges in the country” he added. He further said that a number of specialisations have been launched to provide enough flexibility to students to choose area of their own interest for their career.
Earlier, Dr. Jahangir Khan Sial, welcomed the team and briefed the team about the programme.The team also visited the class rooms, laboratories, library, hydroponics plant and showed their satisfaction over the available equipments and infrastructure.
